CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) is a methodological approach that consists in teaching a discipline or part of it, through a foreign language, in this case English.
This favors the achievement of cognitive objectives (understanding and acquisition of concepts in the non-strictly linguistic area) and linguistic objectives (the use of the foreign language in real contexts).
Doing CLIL means learning not only to use a language, but using a language to learn. The main prerequisites for learning a second language through CLIL concern the quantity and quality of exposure to the foreign language, together with greater motivation to learn.
The proposed CLIL activities are the result of the design of an educational path that sees the use of the English language in an integrated and complementary way with other disciplines in carrying out selected educational activities within the curricular subjects. In fact, significant topics were chosen with respect to the educational planning path, in accordance with the National Indications for the Curriculum in Primary School.
