The project was carried out in a network of seven private schools in Modena and Bologna and is an innovative example of the use of games, structured according to the criteria of playful teaching (Ludic Teaching: Skills in play, Andrea Ligabue, Erickson 2019), as a tool for activating the disciplinary skills, and above all the Life Skills and citizenship skills, of children. The project was carried out in a network of seven school institutes institutions of Modena and Bologna and is an innovative example of the use of games, structured according to the criteria of playful teaching (Ludic Teaching: Skills in play, Andrea Ligabue, Erickson 2019), as a tool for activating the disciplinary skills, and above all the Life Skills and citizenship skills, of children and young people.
The proposed activities consisted of play and play-educational workshops, specifically designed according to the ages of the students and conducted with a multidisciplinary approach: from play workshops and construction of old-fashioned games for nursery schools; to play teaching with board games, coding, educational robotics and 3D printing for primary and secondary school students.
The activities carried out were subject to an impact assessment by the Game Research Center - IMT Alti Studi Lucca, which confirmed the positive effects in terms of student well-being, strengthening of Life Skills, and increased propensity for Steam subjects.
